We Made It! Happy Easter Everyone!

Keep logging your miles if you have them, I will keep count still, but we have made it.
I don't know why I ever doubted! We made it to Jerusalem and have gone beyond. At the current count we have gone 6703.41 miles (our goal was 6205). Well done my friends!
We made it just in time to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior!
Below are some mosaic murals that are along the walls of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the supposed site where Jesus' burial and resurrection took place.

Anyone want to go to Malta? Good, we're there.

We have gone 5273.73 miles! Less than 1000 to go!
Well we traveled quite fast from Morocco to Malta, and because the Island is so small we may be off it by now.  But I thought I would give you some info on Malta and pretty pics to look at.

All I’ve ever known about Malta is that it is the island Paul was shipwrecked on. Apparently there is a lot more to it than that.
The island, off the southern coast of Italy, has been predominately Christian since Paul lived there. There was a period of Arab rule from AD870 to 1090, but after this reign ended Christianity was re-established. Many have ruled the Island, including the Knights of Malta and Napoleon. It has been a member of the European Union since May 1, 2004.
There are about 408,000 people residing in Malta. Maltese is the main language of the people and is one of two official languages of the island, the other being English.
The island is 98% Roman Catholic (according to CIA World Fact book), of which there are over 360 churches, about one church for every 1000 people. There is a small population of Protestant believers made up mainly of Europeans, not native Maltese. Today there is one Jewish congregation and one Muslim mosque.
Tourism is there main source of income. After looking at these pictures, I would be a tourist there if given the opportunity! How about a missions trip to Malta, anyone?

Look at how they are integrating Church and Health.
Catholic-themed marathon to pass through Malta
Posted on March 28th, 2009
A marathon will link the cities of Jerusalem and Rome between April 23 and May 27 passing through Malta in the process.
The initiative, organized by the John Paul II Foundation for Sports, coincides with Pope Benedict XVI’s May 8-15 visit to Israel as a major event in the pope’s calendar in the Pauline Year.
The 1,300 km route will go through five countries: Israel, Greece, Malta, Italy and Vatican City.
The marathon will take off on April 23 in Bethlehem and end at St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican on May 27. http://www.maltamediaonline.com/?p=6454

How cool is that? I wonder if they have to run on water…

Morocco!

My friends, we are out of the ocean and in Tangier, Morocco.  We have traveled 4221.58 miles so far.  This is our last week.  We will finish our counting on Saturday.  We still have just under 2000 miles to go.  But don't let that discourage you from logging in your own miles.  I feel there are a lot of people who have been keeping track, just not turning them in.  So hopefully, with your miles from this week, we will yet reach Jerusalem.  But if not, we will still celebrate our journey.
Exercise strong and have fun!

Where in the world are we?

Well my friends and fellow travelers, we are in the Atlantic Ocean somewhere, about 500 miles off the east coast. We have traveled together 1325.23 miles so far! We only have 4879.77 miles to go! I think we can do it. Keep logging your miles, keep encouraging family and friends to log their miles and intentionally get exercise. Go for a walk with your family as the flowers come up and the trees bud, see God's beauty....then count all of your miles towards the walk!
Let's together, keep seeking to be healthy and take care of theses bodies that God has given us!

How far have we travelled?

Well according to all the information I've been given so far, we have travelled 384.31 miles! However that number is probably not up to date because I don't have many of your miles from last week, only from the first week. So please get those miles in! I realize this is spring break for most of us, but all the more reason to keep exercising! We still have about 400 miles before we reach New York City!
May God bless you and energize you as you journey forward this week.
